The Weather in Bonaire



The weather in Bonaire is very calm, gentle, and pleasurable, all year long.

The consistantly warm weather and crystal clear waters are two main reasons that Bonaire is one of the top destinations for scuba diving, snorkeling, and other aquatic activities.

So, if Bonaire is so perfect, why does it have seasons?

Well, tourism, rainy, wind, and temperature are everywhere. They affect every place on the planet, except Bonaire. The weather in Bonaire is warm in the winter and warm in the summer.

In Bonaire, the high tourist season is from December 15 through April 14. On the other hand, the low tourist season is from April 15 through December 14.

On average the air temperature is 82 degrees Fahrenheit.

The air typically has a relative humidity of 75%.

The water is not much cooler than the air at 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

The coldest months tend to be January and February, but cold in Bonaire is not really cold at all!

July, August, and September get the awards for hottest months in Bonaire.

The windy season for Bonaire is from May to August; however, the rainy season is November through January.

Bonaire does have a constant trade wind that usually makes evenings cool, but still it's very comfortable, and enjoyable.

In the evening it's great to take a walk along the water or through the town.

The average speed for the Bonairian winds are about fifteen miles per hour. The trade winds make it great for kiteboarding and windsailing.

In Bonaire, the rainfall averages around 22 inches per year.

What this means is your vacation won't be rained out!!

The lack of rain is a big part of the Bonaire experience.

It allows the coral reefs to grow and thrive in shallow waters without the contamination of fresh rainwater.

No matter what the season or weather conditions, the regular, everyday activities of snorkeling, scuba diving, shopping, lounging, and swimming are almost never interrupted.

The weather in Bonaire is always warm!

One website boasted that Bonaire is 99% of the time ready for any activity whether it be diving, snorkeling or parasailing.

It is a rarity that Bonaire has bad weather to prevent these awesome activities.
