The People Of Bonaire

The people of Bonaire are not shy people, in fact they are very out going and friendly.

They enjoy meeting and talking with island locals and island visitors.

Don’t be Shy! Introduce yourself and start a conversation with the locals. Ask them questions. Who better to tell you about the island or the customs than the people who live there.

Give them a compliment too. Everyone likes to hear something nice, just tell them how much you enjoy their beautiful island.

Bonaire is has some accomplished sailors who know how to navigate its beautiful waters. Try a sunset cruise, I promise it will be incredible. You won't forget the sight for a long time. Bonaire sunsets are beautiful!

Part of the fun of traveling is getting to know about the culture and the people who live in my vacation spots. Bonaire is no different.

There is quite an assortment of different peoples and different histories that make Bonaire what it is today.

Dig deep and find out how the Bonaire we know and love came to be.

During your journey you can meet some really interesting people.

When you get to know some of the "native" people of the island it changes your vacation from nice to wonderful!

Friends, after all, are half the fun!

You will have some great memories of your new friends to take home with you. 12,000 people call Bonaire their home.

It's not overly populated and that means...no crowds!

A vacation spot is usually standing room only, but Bonaire remains uncrowded. It's all the things I want on my vacation, but it is comfortable, peaceful, majestic, and beautiful.

Each person adds to the amazing Bonairian culture and experience of traveling.

The people of Bonaire have many of the same rules we have here in the states, but there a few small differences.

First of all, the legal age for consuming alcoholic beverages is 18 years old unlike the Unites States’ 21 years old.

The gambling age in Bonaire is 21 years old unlike the Unites States’ 18 years old. These are the basic age limitations that a traveler will encounter while in Bonaire.

This works for me since I am well over 21!

In Bonaire there is not really any dress code, just common sense. When you are downtown, you cannot wear beach wear; you must wear casual clothing. The people of Bonaire know you are here to enjoy the beach and water and the dress code reflects that.

Just no walking around town in just your bathing suit, that's pushing it!

Evening attire in the United States is often considered casual or casual nice attire in Bonaire.

Nudity and topless sunbathing, swimming, and other activities are prohibited in Bonaire except one place. This one place is called the Sorobon Beach Resort, and it is a nudist, or naturist, resort.
