My Vacation in Aruba

A Beautiful Picture of Aruba The Happy Island in the Netherland Antilles

My vacation in Aruba was wonderful. I flew to Aruba at the end of Sept. and loved it as soon as I got off the plane. The warm winds welcomed me. If you have ever been to any of the ABC Islands, you know how the trade winds blow constantly. I was traveling with my daughter Kristen, my son Jeffrey and my daughter in law Jennifer. There is something in Aruba for everyone.

The water there is so beautiful, all that turquoise blue, just lovely. And so clear! Wait until you see some of the pictures I was able to take. I found a beautiful starfish, and of course, lots of fish, when we went snorkeling.

The iguana were all over, for some reason I didn't think the iguana in Aruba would be like the Bonaire Iguana. I know there are a lot on that island too. I love to see them in the wild. I thought I might be afraid of them, but wasn't at all. Jennifer wanted to go to the Ostrich farm, so we drove over one day. Ostrich are such a pretty bird, and they are huge!

We saw the lighthouse, the natural bridge site (the natural bridge fell in 2005), the natural pool, the rugged side of the island, we ate, drank, gambled, swam, snorkeled, and had a great time.

The one mistake we made was not renting a jeep. We rented a small car and when we went exploring on the far side of the island...it was a rough ride and we couldn't continue on past the natural bridge. Had to end up taking a tour, so if you want to save money in the long run, rent the jeep right away.
