Bonaire Kitesurfing For Your Dream Vacation

More and more extreme sports enthusiasts are bitten by the kitesurfing bug, and why not!

Some call it kiteboarding, but whatever you call it, it's what we call Bonaire fun!

Who wouldn’t be hooked by the excitement you get from controlling the kite and allowing your body and board to be pulled over the waves and actually lifted off the water.

Get some good air, and your flying!

The jumps and turns you learn to perform keep your body and your mind craving more. The adrenaline is flowing and you feel the rush.

Out of the many wind sport locations in the world, Bonaire offers some world class water and winds.

Bonaire offers some great vacation packages for anyone looking to come to the island.

Lots of kitesurfers have found the little Dutch Caribbean island before you, and many will come after.

Why?

Because Bonaire has been building up a word of mouth reputation of being one of the best Caribbean islands for wind sports.

With the constant trade winds, flat waters and waves too, how can you go wrong?

There are some great gear rental places here too.

If you don’t already know how to kitesurf you can take some lessons and learn from some of Bonaire’s most experienced kitesurfers.

Staying on Bonaire

Staying on Bonaire is never a problem.

There are plenty of hotels, resorts, or hostels to stay in while your on the island.

Most of the resorts and hotels on Bonaire offer some great dive packages working with the the dive shops, and now some of them have some great kitesurfing packages for you to take advantage of.

Kitesurfing, like all extreme sports, can be dangerous.

The best way to avoid getting hurt is to learn the basics of any sport correctly and that means getting some instruction.

Here on Bonaire there are a couple of ways to get the ABC'S of Kiteboarding, and from some of the best kiteboarders on the island.

Kitesurfing Lessons

You can check it out at www.kiteboardingbonaire.com.

Where they offer four levels of instruction.

1. Kite flying intro

Learn how to launch and land

2. Intro (iko certification)

Learn to fly a powerkite in the water

3. Beginner (iko certification)

Go from kite flying in the water to up on the board

4. Independent (iko certification)

Here is where you learn to fly

IKO Certification

IKO is one form of kitesurfing certification, like PADI to scuba divers.

Make sure your instructor is IKO-certified to ensure your learning from the most highly trained standard in the industry.

Lessons usually last a total of up to 6 hours, and after that time you should be able to get on your board and launch your kite.

If you don’t own your own kiteboarding gear the shop your taking your lessons at should be able to rent you some, or you may decide to buy your own.

Caution: Kitesurfing is addictive!
