Kiteboarding Bonaire

Kiteboarding Bonaire is a kiteboarders dream.

Bonaire is a little island located in the Lesser Antilles section of the southern Caribbean.

Bonaire already has a reputation as a Diver's Paradise.

Not only is Bonaire a beautiful place above the water, it is more spectacular under the water.

It has a pristine fringing coral reef that surrounds the island and the water there is designated as a marine park.

Bonaire knows what a treasure it has in it's clear waters and it's coral reefs. The people of the island work hard to keep them up to the high standards that keep Bonaire high on the list of top dive sites in the world.

With year round trade winds constantly blowing in from the east it seems that Bonaire may well be a kiteboarding Paradise too.

Kiteboarding Beaches

There are 5 kiteboarding locations on Bonaire.

One of them, Lac Bay, is closed for kiteboarding right now.

The five top locations for kiteboarding are:

1. Atlantis

2. Pink Beach

3. No Name Beach on Klein Bonaire

4. Lac Bay

5. Lac Cai

Atlantis and Pink Beach are located on the southern end of Bonaire. With the off shore winds and the flat water results from them, these two beaches are ideal for kiteboarding.

No Name Beach on Klein Bonaire (that actually means Little Bonaire) is an ideal spot for kiteboarding for those of an intermediate level or higher.

Lac Bay and Lac Cai are on the eastern side of Bonaire.

Lac Bay is closed right now to all Kite boarding activity.

Lac Cai is found at the entrance to Lac Bay.

It might not be easy to get there, but when you see the 6 foot to higher waves make it worth the effort. Kite boarding enthusiasts find Lac Cai the a great place to get some "Big Air" here...so enjoy the "Hang Time"!

Make sure to stay out of the bay!!
