The Aruba California Lighthouse
Visit The Aruba California Lighthouse...the perfect spot for any lighthouse fans in the family...or for anyone who wants to see all of this Dutch Caribbean Island.
Where Is The California Lighthouse?
The California Lighthouse on the northwestern tip of the island of Aruba. It's was named California for a steamship that was wrecked in this spot in September of 1891. This is a huge photo spot for many of the visitors to Aruba.
The view from the lighthouse area is great! Just know before you go, that's what you will find, a lovely, scenic spot. It's a lighthouse, locked and closed. You can't go in it or climb it. We wanted to learn the island of Aruba by visiting every part of it. So we drove out to see what the big deal was...was it the best time we had on the island? No, but I would do it again if I were to go there.
Aruba is a small island and it's easy to spend an hour driving out there and back. Walk around, take in the view...there's the beautiful water, a nice view of some island homes down the hill and goats! Yes, you might see some of the wild goats while your at the lighthouse...I know we did!
If you are hungry you can stop at the La Trattoria el Faro Blanco restaurant...the name means restaurant by the white lighthouse...sit down and enjoy some Italian food. The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner.
